Miss Mary L. Parr, whose serious illness was noticed in last week’s DEMOCRAT, died on Saturday. The funeral services were held at her father’s residence on Monday, but owing to decomposition of the body it was found necessary to bury the remains on Sunday. Miss Parr was one of the highest students in Franklin College and her death, following so soon after that of her brother, has cast quite a gloom over the students. She was the daughter of Elder P. K. Parr, of Clark Township, who has the sympathy of the entire community

The students feel very keenly their loss in the death of John and Mary Parr, two of the brightest students ever in the college. Their places cannot be filled. Miss Parr would have graduated in two years, and John in four.
