Anna Margaret Pender O’Sullivan Anna Margaret Pender O’Sullivan, 87, died Friday, April 20, 2007, at her residence in Franklin. She was born Sept. 30, 1919, in Hanover. She had been a teacher for 43 years, teaching history and English as well as special education. She taught in Indianapolis Public Schools in English and history. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Franklin. She was a writer and publisher of several children’s books and poetry. She also was a writer for the Spotlight newspaper. She wrote many editorials for a Catholic newspaper, retiring in 1985. She had master’s degrees in English and history and had a special education degree. Survivors include six children, Frances Record of Johnson County, Kit Record of Bloomington, Kirby (Siti) Record of Japan, Jan Eoff of Trafalgar, Dana (Chris) Stockton of Greenwood and Jennifer (Bill) McDowell of Franklin; two sisters, Kirby Lake of Lawrenceburg and Helen Thomas of Hanover; two brothers, Cornell Monroe of Colorado and Norman Monroe of Iowa; son-in-law, Charles Stockton; 18 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her dog, Daisy May. She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy William and Thea Grace Sipe Pender; two grandchildren; two brothers, Carroll Pender and Lynn Monroe; her first husband, Franklin Record; and her second husband, John O’Sullivan. The Rev. Tom Schliessmann will conduct a funeral service at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Jessen Funeral Home, 197 E. Jefferson St. in Franklin. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Acton Cemetery in Indianapolis. Memorial contributions may be made to the Macular Degeneration Society, in care of the funeral home. Submitted by SUBMITTER
