BERRY NORTON

Berry Norton, 90, died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, in Franklin. He was a resident of Franklin.

He was born June 4, 1914, in Bohan, Ky. His parents were Wade and Nannie Lou (Springate) Norton. He married Gladys (Hall) Norton on May 13, 1938. She preceded him in death. Survivors include a son, Ted Norton of Franklin; a special daughter, Pat Mundorff of Franklin; a brother, Elwood Norton of Franklin; a best friend, Marie Thomas of Whiteland; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a niece. He was preceded in death by a brother, Sherman Norton; and a sister, Hazel Durbin.

He attended schools in Kentucky.

He was employed by Arvin as a material control clerk for 50 years, retiring in 1980.

He was a member of Bargersville Christian Church and Johnson County Shrine Club and a member of Franklin Masonic Lodge 107 F&AM, Scottish Rite, Valley of Indianapolis, and Murat Shrine for more than 50 years.

The Rev. Roger Gifford will conduct a graveside service at 11 a.m. Friday at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St. in Franklin, where Franklin Masonic Lodge 107 F&AM will conduct a Masonic service at 7:30 tonight.
