Mrs. Sophia Myers [sic], aged 87 years died last Saturday evening at seven o’clock at the home of Squire Heron. Funeral and burial Friday forenoon.

The 1850 US Federal Census for Perry, Marion County, Indiana records forty-five-year-old, New York-born farmer John Myres, has forty-year-old, Indiana-born wife Sophia Myres and their Indiana-born children, twenty-two-year-old Charles, twenty-year-old Charlotte, eighteen-year-old Elizabeth, sixteen-year-old Mary, fourteen-year-old George, twelve-year-old Ann, nine-year-old John, seven-year-old Angelica, five-year-old Eliza, two-year-old William and new-born Peter Myres.
The 1880 US Federal Census for Franklin, Johnson County, Indiana records seventy-year-old, Indiana-born widow Sophia Myers [sic]. She is head of a household which includes her thirty-year-old, Indiana-born widowed daughter, Eliza N. Burk and her Indiana-born grandchildren, thirteen-year-old Linea, nine-year-old Maud A. and three-year-old James H. Burk.
