Elesta Milnes dies; former Edinburg woman
EDINBURG — Mrs. Elesta Milnes, 83, former Edinburg 
resident, died Monday at 11 a.m. at the home of her 
daughter near Brownsburg.
      The funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Mutz Funeral 
Home.  Rev. Ray Bozell will officiate.  Burial will be 
made in Rest Haven Cemetery.  Friends may call at the 
funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday.
      Surviving with the husband are five children, Darrell 
D. Milnes Sr. of Columbus, Mrs. Lelan Fallis of Morris-
town, Orval of Edinburg, Mrs. Elsie Stillabower of 
Shelbyville and Mrs. Goldie Gosch of Brownsburg.  
One son died in infancy.  Three sisters, Mrs. Florence 
Waltz of Hope, Mrs. Lillie Long of near Franklin and 
Mrs. Annie Dinn of Edinburg, and one brother, John 
Bisel of Edinburg, remain.  Also surviving are 10 
grandchildren, five foster grandchildren and 16 
great-grandchildren. 
      Mrs. Milnes was born in Johnson County Oct. 6, 
1881.  She was married to Alvin Milnes on August 21, 
1902.
