Young Mellette, who died of scarlet fever at Williamsburg, a few days since, is supposed to have contracted the disease at Indianapolis on a visit the week previous. No other cases of the dread disease have developed in the community and we understand no fears of it should be entertained.

Robert G. Mellette, a son of Dr. Mellette, of Williamsburg, died on the 2nd inst., [this month], of scarlet fever, after an illness of only about five days. Robert was but seventeen years of age and was a general favorite in the community. His sudden death has caused great grief not only in his immediate family but amongst all of his young companions who speak in high terms of his character. The band, of which he was a member, passed appropriate resolutions of respect for him and condolence for the bereavement of his family, which are published in another place.
