Death of Mrs. Martha McClellan.

Mrs. Martha J. McClellan, widow of John L. [sic F.] McClellan, died Sat­urday at 11:50 a.m. after a brief illness from pneumonia. She was a sister of Robert Jennings, who died recently at Greenwood, and an aunt of Treasurer W. B. Jennings. For many years she and her husband conducted the Mc­Clellan House, opposite the J. M. & I. depot. For several years she has made her home with her son-in-law, J. L. Duncan on north Main Street. She was seventy-seven years old and was in the enjoyment of comparatively good health until suddenly taken sick Monday, March 5, with a severe attack of pneu­monia.

She was a most estimable wo­man and her death is mourned by a large circle of relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Monday af­ternoon at 2 o’clock from the resi­dence, conducted by Rev. L. P. Mar­shall. Burial at Greenlawn.

Jennings McClellan died from pneumonia of one week’s duration at about 12 o’clock p. m. on 10 Mar 1900 in Franklin, Johnson County, Indiana, aged seventy-six years, eleven months and twenty-three days, born in Mercer County, Kentucky. She was female, white, widowed and a landlady. Her father’s name was Thompson Jennings, born in Virginia, and her mother’s maiden name was Mary Thompson, born in Kentucky. She was buried in Greenlawn Cemetery on 12 Mar 1900, Dudley Peak, undertaker.
