Mr. Allen McCaslin died at his home just south of Franklin, on Sunday evening, at 7 o’clock, from injuries received by a fall a few days previous to his death. Funeral services were held at his late residence, at 3:30 o’clock on Monday afternoon conducted by Rev. E. M. McMillen. Mr. McCaslin was a life long and consistent member of the Presbyterian church; and for a number of years Deacan [sic] in the church; he was one of Johnson county’s best citizens, and highly esteemed by all who knew him. He lived an exemplary life—one worthy of imitation.
