Fern N. McCaslin

Fern N. McCaslin, 91, died Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin. She was a resident of Prince’s Lakes.

She was born Dec. 12, 1911, in Irvington. Her parents were Frank and Muriel (Armstrong) Brooking. She married Jesse Fryman on Dec. 17, 1927. He preceded her in death Oct. 19, 1947. She then married Max Bridges McCaslin on July 22, 1950, in Indianapolis. He survives. Other survivors include four daughters, Joanne Schmalfeldt of El Paso, Texas, Marjorie Schoeder of Avon Park, Fla., Connie Lou Bullock of Somerset, Ky., and Lorene Waterfall of Nineveh; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, James Fryman; two infant children; two sisters; two brothers; and a grandchild.

She attended Manual Training High School in Indianapolis.

She was a homemaker, a member of the Nineveh Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and a trumpet player.

The Rev. Bruce Bendinger will conduct a service at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Vandivier-Tudor Funeral Home in Franklin. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at First Mount Pleas- ant Cemetery in Franklin.

Services: 10:30 a.m. June 20 at Vandivier-Tudor Funeral Home with calling from 4 to 8 p.m. June 19. Burial: First Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Survivors: husband, Max Bridges McCaslin; daughters, Joanne Schmalfeldt, Marjorie Schroder, Connie Lou Bullock and Lorene Waterfall; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
