Trafalgar — Cecil A. McCaslin, 93, a retired farmer and supervisor at the Kenneth N. Rider Packing Co. for 30 years, died Saturday at the Franklin Healthcare Centre where he had been a resident for three weeks. He had been in failing health for two years.

He was born Nov. 13, 1887 in Hopewell to George and Luna (List) McCaslin. He was married to Florence Bridges Dec. 11, 1911 and she survives.

A life long resident, Mr. McCaslin was a graduate of Trafalgar High School and a member of the Trafalgar Christian Church and Traflagar Masonic Lodge 413. He was past worthy patron of Traflagar Order of Eastern Star 423.

The Rev. Roy Gray will conduct a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Vandivier-Tudor Funeral Home in Franklin where friends may call after 2 p.m. Monday. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Trafalgar Christian Church.

Other survivors include a son, Max McCaslin of Princes Lakes, Nineveh, and four step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary Hamilton.

Trafalgar, Ind — Cecil A. McCaslin, 93, Trafalgar, a retired farmer, died Saturday [7 Mar 1981] in a local nursing home. He also had been a superintendent with the Kenneth N. Rider Packing Co. for 30 years before retiring. A lifelong Johnson County resident, he was a member of Trafalgar Christian Church, Trafalgar Masonic Lodge 413 and was a past Worthy Patron of the Order of Eastern Star 423. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Vandivier-Tudor Funeral Home at Franklin, where friends may call after 2 p.m. Monday. Survivors include his wife, Florence Bridges McCaslin, and a son, Max McCaslin. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
