James LaBonte

James LaBonte, 78, died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2001, 
in Indianapolis. He was a resident of Bargersville.

He was born Feb. 2, 1923, in Indianapolis. His 
parents were Napoleon and Ethel (Wilson) LaBonte. 
He married Martha (Baker) LaBonte on Oct. 4, 1947, 
in Indianapolis. She survives. Other survivors 
include a daughter, Marilyn Combs of Bargersville; 
a son, Larry James LaBonte of Greenwood; and two 
grandchildren.

He was employed for 11 years as a courier for 
Purolator. He was previously employed for 17 years 
as a truck driver by Gulf Oil.

He was a 1941 graduate of Howe High School.

He was stationed on Johnson Island as a pharmacist 
mate for the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was a member of Whiteland United Methodist Church 
and Bargersville Senior Citizens Center.

A service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at 
G.H. Herrmann Funeral Home, Greenwood Chapel. Friends 
may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. 
Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
