CAROLYN T. KENDALL

Carolyn T. Kendall, 87, died Tuesday, July 27, 2004, in Indianapolis. She was a resident of Indianapolis and a former resident of Greenfield and Franklin.

She was born Aug. 28, 1916, in Indianapolis. Her parents were Henry John and Mary Carolyn (Whetsell) Thalhamer. She married the Rev. Marcus Kendall on March 9, 1979. He survives. Other survivors include a son, Roger Adams of Franklin; two daughters, Susan Mattingly of Nashville and Jennifer Ferrell of Greenfield; a stepson, Jeff Kendall of Carmel; a stepdaughter, Annette Kendall of Fishers; seven grandchildren; nine stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Ted Davis and Frederick and Richard Thalhamer; and a sister, Josephine Moore.

She graduated from Franklin High School and attended Indiana Business School.

She was employed by RCA in Indianapolis as an executive secretary from 1960 to 1979, where she spent five years as secretary to the CEO. She worked in several offices of the Indiana Welfare Department in Indianapolis from 1937 to 1942 and worked in the office of the county agent in Franklin from 1935 to 1936.

She was a member of Psi Iota Xi Auxiliary, Family Support Center in Indianapolis and Clowes Hall Women’s Association. She served as president of Psi Iota Xi Greenfield Chapter in 1952. She was a former volunteer at St. Vincent Hospital and Community Hospital North.

The Rev. John Paulson will conduct a service at 10 a.m. Friday at Pasco-Stillinger Funeral Home, 1780 W. Main St. in Greenfield. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
