CLARENCE KEATON

INDIANAPOLIS — Funeral ser­vices for Clarence M. Keaton, a former Johnson County Deputy Recorder, are to be conducted in the Flanner and Buchanan Fall Creek Mortuary at 3 o’clock Monday afternoon.

The services are to be in charge of the Rev. Daniel Kapornyai, pastor of the Nineveh Christian Church, and burial will take place in Crown Hill Cemetery at Indianapolis.

Friends may call at the mortuary after noon Sunday and until time for the servcie. They are invited to attend the rites.

On May 20, Mr. Keaton fell and sustained a broken hip. He was ad­mitted to the Methodist Hospital where he died Friday night at 9:15 o’clock.

The son of the late William M. and Annabel Belk Keaton, Mr. Keaton was born at Nineveh on Aug. 29, 1876.

On Oct. 20, 1901, he and the former Ella A. Abbott were married at Nineveh by the bride’s brother, the late Rev. U. G. Abbott. She died July 17, 1966. A son born to them died in infancy.

Mr. Keaton had been a barber by trade for 30 years barbering in Nineveh, Franklin, Greenwood, In­dianapolis, Troy, Ohio, Pendleton, Ore., and Los Angeles, Calif.

In 1918, he purchased a farm near Crawfordsville and retired from the profession in 1945, when he moved to Indianapolis.

From 1896 to 1900, Mr. Keaton served as deputy recorder of Johnson County under the late John M. Belk, an uncle.

He was a member of the Broadway Methodist Church, Nineveh Lodge, No. 66, F. & A. M. for 66 years, Scottish Rite for 52 years, and the Eagles Lodge at Noblesville.

His only survivors are a brother, Ben Keaton, of Greenwood; and a niece, Miss Georgiana Keaton, of Columbus.

Clarence Keaton dies early today

Clarence M. Keaton, 92, brother of Ben Keaton of Greenwood died early today at Robert Long Hospital, Indianapolis. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Flanner and Buchanan, Fall Creek Mortuary.

Funeral services for Clarence M. Keaton, 90 years old, 4450 Marcy Lane, Apt. 106, retired barber, will be held at 3 p.m. Monday in Flanner and Buchanan Fall Creek Mortuary. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Keaton, who was born at Nineveh and had lived in Indianapolis 22 years, died in Methodist Hospital Friday.

He was a member of Broadway Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge at Nineveh for 66 years, Scottish Rite and the Eagles Lodge at Noblesville.

A brother, Ben H. Keaton of Greenwood, survives.
