Services Friday for Ben H. Keaton

Funeral services for Ben H. Keaton, 89, will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday at Vandivier-Tudor Funeral Home, Franklin, by Dr. H. Myron Kauffman.

Burial will follow in Nineveh Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday.

Mr. Keaton, 72 West Pearl Street, Greenwood, died today at St. Francis Hospital, Beech Grove.

Born July 28, 1888, in Nineveh, he was the son of William M. and Anna E. (Belk) Keaton. He was married to Sula Ann (Wirey) Keaton, who preceded him in death in 1974.

Mr. Keaton attended Nineveh schools and was a member of Nineveh Christian Church.

The World War I veteran was a former Franklin city employee and a retired state oil inspector.

Active in the Republican party, Mr. Keaton was a precinct committeeman in Franklin and Greenwood. He also served as a campaign manager for former Rep. William Bray when he ran for governor.

Surviving relatives include Mrs. Zada Melton, Greenwood, with whom he lived since 1973, and Georgeanna Keaton, Columbus.

Word has been received here of the death of Ben H. Keaton, 89, Greenwood. He was the uncle of Georgeanna Keaton of 722 Lafayette.

Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday by Dr. H. Myron Kauffman at Vandivier-Tudor Funeral Home in Franklin. Burial will be at Nineveh Cemetery. Keaton died Wednesday at St. Francis Hospital at Beech Grove.

Persons may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. today.

Keaton was a member of the Nineveh Christian Church and a veteran of the first world war. He was a former Franklin city employee and a retired state oil inspector. He was active in the Republican party, serving as precinct committeeman in Franklin and Greenwood and as campaign manager for former U.S. Rep. William Bray when he ran for governor.

Keaton was born July 28, 1888 to the late William M. and Anna E. Belk Keaton. He married the former Sula Ann Wirey who died in 1974.

GREENWOOD, Ind. — Ben H. Keaton, 89, retired state oil inspector and Republican precinct official, died yesterday in St. Francis Hospital Center.

Keaton formerly was a precinct committeeman at Franklin and Greenwood and was a retired Franklin city employee. He was a veteran of World War I and served as a campaign manager for former Rep. William Bray when he ran for governor. Services will be tomorrow at 2 p.m. in Vandivier-Tudor Funeral Home with burial in Nineveh Cemetery.
