==============================

OBITUARY.

Mary Alice Jones departed this life on the morning of September 4, 1895, at her home in Bargersville, Ind., age 36 years, 9 months and 22 days.

She was married to John M. Jones, Jan 25, 1876. The union was blessed with three children, two boys and one girl. Her sufferings were intense but she bore them with patience. She was loved by all who knew her. She united with the Christian church at Bargersville during Rev. Lorse’s protracted meetings in 1884. She was ever ready to respond to the needs of any who were in distress. She had a loving and social disposition. The husband and three children are left to mourn their loss, besides her mother, a sister and three brothers. No mother’s voice is heard speaking a warning word to guide aright the footsteps of her children, or a word to cheer her husband. No more will her form cross the threshold of their home. She cannot come to you, but you may go to her. May each member of this family be so guided and directed that they may form an unbroken family circle around the throne of God, there to sing his praises forever. Her funeral was preached by Rev. Daugherty, from the text, “Watch, therefore, for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come,” after which the remains were consigned to their last resting place, in the presence of a large throng of sorrowing relatives and friends.

“Dearest mother thou hast left us,
And thy loss we deeply feel,
But ‘tis God who hath bereft us,
He can all our sorrows heal.”
