Thomas E. Hostrup

Thomas E. Hostrup, 79, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2001, at Greenwood Health and Living Community. He was a resident of Greenwood.

He was born April 8, 1922, in Lancaster, Mich. His parents were Andrew Christian Thomas and Christina (Kuballo) Hostrup. He married Cecelia (Ramsey) Hostrup. She preceded him in death. Survivors include four daughters, Debra Christine Walton of Greenwood, Kathy Sue Miller of Canton, Mich., Sharon Rae Decker of Dunedin, Fla., and Patricia Ann Lawson of Escalon, Calif.; a sister, Martha Peterson of Moorehead, Minn.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl and Simon Hostrup; and two sisters, Sophie Beck and Hanna Jacobson.

He was employed for 30 years by American Standard as a welder, retiring in 1980.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

Bishop Richard von Harten will conduct a service at 10 a.m. Saturday at Benjamin Franklin Chapel at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in White River Township. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Forest Lawn Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Home, State Road 135 Chapel, is handling arrangements.
