Mary Etta Holmes, 83, Edinburgh, died at 9:05 p.m. Tuesday at Johnson County Hospital, Franklin. She was a native of Columbia, Ky. and is survived by two sisters, Bertha and Thera Holmes, both of Edinburgh.
Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Eskew Funeral Home here where calling hours were held Thursday. Burial was at Rest Haven Cemetery.
Miss Holmes was born August 13, 1896, the daughter of the late Isaac and Nancy Jane Burton Holmes. She also was preceded in death by a sister, Emma Rooks.
