DEATH OF GRACIE HENRY.

Gracie Henry, daughter of John M. Henry, died at the residence of her grandmother, Mrs. H. J. Henry, Monday evening at eight o’clock p.m. after an illness of a few weeks from consumption, she being alone with her two grandmothers at the time. She was born May 20, 1879 and died Dec 17, 1894, aged fifteen years.

She seemed better that evening, and but a few minutes before her death, she was sitting up in a chair, talking of Christmas which she was so anxious to see come, and without a moment’s warning the blood began to pour from her mouth, so that she was unable to speak but a very few words, among them were, “Blessed Jesus come quick.” It was a terrible struggle, but death soon came and relieved her of her suffering.

Grace was loved by all who knew her, her mother having departed for the better world, when she was but a very small child. She joined the Glade M. E. church, Nov. 23, 1894, and many times during her sickness was questioned as to her soul’s eternal welfare, and each time she replied “All is well’ and that she was going home to rest.

The funeral services were held at the Glade church, Wednesday the sermon being preached by Rev. Mead. Interment took place in the cemetery.

A FRIEND.
