EDINBURGH — Dale Kenneth Harrod, 69, of Route 1, died at 8:45 a.m. Saturday at Johnson County Memorial Hospital in Franklin following a long illness.
He was a retired dairy farmer and was a former member of the Edinburgh Town Board and the Rest Haven Cemetery board.
Funeral service will be conducted by Dr. Alfred Drake at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh where calling hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today. A Masonic memorial service will be held at 8 o’clock tonight. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
Harrod was born June 15, 1915, in Bartholomew County, the son of R.B. and Hattie Zeigner Harrod. He married Catherine "Becky" Bruce Sept. 5, 1942, and she survives. He was a member of the Edinburgh Masonic Lodge and an Air Force Veteran of the second world war.
