Laddie L. Harbert

Laddie L. Harbert, 84, died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2004, at Windsor Manor Health Care in Indianapolis. He was a resident of Greenwood.

He was born Nov. 11, 1919, in Greenwood. His parents were Samuel B. and Catherine (Craig) Harbert. He married Mary E. (Beck) Harbert on Nov. 16, 1940. She survives. Other survivors include three sons, David E., John A. and R. Edward Harbert; a daughter, Susan J. Hobson; a sister, Jane Sutter; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Weakly; and a brother, S. Arland Harbert.

He was a graduate of Center Grove High School.

He retired from farming, Eli Lilly and the Farmers Mutual Hail Life Insurance Co.

He was a member of Mount Auburn United Methodist Church.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in Europe.

The Rev. J. Wesley Hertel will conduct a service at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Forest Lawn Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Road 135 Chapel, in Greenwood. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
