Wayne Arthur Hamilton, 96, died Tuesday at Records Autumn Healthcare Center in Franklin. He was a resident of Franklin.
He was born Jan. 14, 1899, in Morgan County. His parents were John G. Hamilton and Cora Hamilton. He married Cecil Wirey in 1922. She preceded him in death May 7, 1967. Survivors include a daughter, Catherine Price of Lakeland, Fla; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He also was preceded in death by a son, Robert Hamilton; a brother and a sister.
He was a self-employed truck driver for 30 years, retiring in 1955.
The Rev. Roger Gifford will conduct a private service at Vandivier-Tudor Funeral Home in Franklin. Private family calling hours will be conducted at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
