Funeral Services To
Be Held Thursday

Mrs. Minerva Vandivier Hamilton, age 80, wife of P. S. [Peter Sherman] Hamilton, died at 6 o’clock Tuesday morning at her home, 1013 South State street.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday morning at 10 o’clock at the Vandivier funeral home, and will be conducted by the Rev. C. A. Wade, of Indianapolis. Burial will take place in the First Mt. Pleasant cemetery. Ne­phews will serve as casket bearers. Friends are invited to call at the resi­dence at any time prior to the funeral.

Mrs. Hamilton was born in Union township on April 16, 1858, the daugh­ter of the late Jefferson and Margaret Vandivier. She received her schooling in Union township, and united with the church at Christian Chapel in Union township in early childhood. She trans­ferred her membership to the Beech Grove Baptist church with her husband in 1880. Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton were married on January 28, 1880.

Nine children were born to this union, six of whom are living. They are Mrs. Grace Miller, Mrs. Edna Shank, Mrs. Marietta Kennedy, Mrs. Doris Mellin, Duncan Hamilton. Three chil­dren who have preceded their mother in death are William Edgar Hamilton, Tilson DeWitt Hamilton and Henry Dupont Hamilton.

Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton went to housekeeping on the farm near the Beech Grove church, and lived there until 1918, when they retired and moved to Franklin, where they have resided since that time. Mrs. Hamilton lived a life of service to her family, to her neighbors and to her friends.

Nine grandchildren who survive are the Rev. Gerald Miller, of Muskogee, Okla.; Mrs. Alene Hargis, Lola Ger­trude Shank, Robert Shank, Virginia Kennedy, Margaret Hamilton, Doris Jean Hamilton and Mary Ann Hamilton.

Other survivors include two great grandchildren, Kay Layton Miller and Patricia Joan Miller; one sister, Mrs. Harriett Wallace, and three brothers, Dr. H. R. Vandivier, of Terre Haute; S. E. Vandivier, of Franklin; Dillard Vandiv­ier, of Linton; the hus­band, P. S. Hamilton, and a host of relatives and friends.
