HESPER HAMILTON

Hesper Hamilton, 88, died Tuesday at Homeview Center of Franklin. She was a resident of Franklin and a longtime resident of Johnson and Brown counties.

She was born Aug. 4, 1907, in Brown County. Her parents were Albert and Mary (Anderson) Hogan. She married Lewis Bradford Richardson Oct. 1, 1924. He preceded her in death. She later married Chester Hamilton Feb. 24, 1951. He preceded her in death in February 1973. Survivors include six daughters, Donna F. Eldridge of Franklin, H. Jeannette Richardson of Morgantown, Joyce F. Lowder of Greenwood, Annie L. McCormack of Stockbridge, Mass., Lois M. Adams of Columbus and C. Dianne Freese of Southport; two sons, William E. Richardson of Springfield, Mass., and Grover L. Hamilton of Crown Point; a brother, Arthur Hogan of Indianapolis; 35 grandchildren; 73 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by two daughters, Mary L. Rund and Kathryn E. Gaither; a son, James A. Richardson; two brothers, Raymond Hogan and John Hogan; and two sisters, Cleo Swift and Hazel Swift.

She was a homemaker. She also had been employed by Bemis Bag Co. in Indianapolis, Varynit Mills in Franklin and Camp Atterbury.

She was a member of Lickspring Baptist Church, Unity Baptist Church in Brown County, Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, American War Mothers and Senior Citizens of Franklin.

The Rev. John Parsley will conduct a service at 10 a.m. Friday at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home in Franklin. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
