Williamson Hamblen Dead.

Williamson Hamblen, who was a pioneer of Brown county, died at his home on North Yandes street here Sunday afternoon at 4 o’clock. He had been ill for some time. Mr. Hamblen was born in Lee county, Virginia, Oct. 3, 1846, and the age of 11 years moved to Brown county with his parents. He lived there until ten years ago when he came to Franklin. On Dec. 31, 1874, he was married to Eunice Lorena Collins of Franklin, and to them were born five children, all of whom with the mother survive. They are A. Porter, Robert M., Alfred Emmett, Hetty Agnes and Mrs. Ray Lamb.

Mr Hamblen had been a faithful member of the Methodist church since 1876. He gained a wide reputation as a maker of violins and was a violinist of more than ordinary ability. He was a great friend of the late Prof. F. W. Brown who died recently.

Funeral services will be held at the Methodist church Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock, conducted by the Rev. James Baldwin and the Rev. R. H. Kent. Burial will be in the Edinburg cemetery.

Funeral of Wm. Hamblen.

Funeral services for Williamson Hamblen were held this afternoon at 1:30 o’clock at the Methodist church. The Rev. James Baldwin of the Columbus Methodist church had charge and was assisted by the Rev. R. H. Kent of Franklin.

A quartet composed by Mr. and Mrs. Otis Wooley, Miss Edith Hitz and Roy Graham sang. The casket bearers were Jobe Hamblen, Orvil Hamblen, John E. Collins, John Gillespie, Russell Hamblen and Melvin Wheaton. Burial was at the Edinburg cemetery.
