Naurice S. Groves

  Naurice S. Groves, 76, route 2,
Edinburgh, died at Bartholomew
County Hospital after a several
months’ illness.
  He was a retired farmer, had worked
as a school bus driver in German
Township in Bartholomew County
several years, was former owner and
operator of a Standard Service
Station on U.S. 31 at Edinburgh and
was formerly employed by the
Agricultural Stabilization and
Conservation Service in Columbus.
  Funeral services were conducted at
1:30 p.m. Monday by the Rev. Ronald
Lucas and the Rev. Hubert Walker at
Eskew Funeral Home.  Burial was at
Rest Haven Cemetery.  Carrying the
casket were Everett, Vance, David
and Tom Groves, Clarence Davis,
Jr., and John Deaver.
  Mr. Groves, born in Brown County
April 29, 1904, was the son of
Firman and Rose Steinbarger Groves.
  He married Olive Yeley in 1927 and
she died in 1970.  He was a member
of Taylorsville United Methodist
Church.
  Survivors include one daughter,
Janet Heuss, route 2, Edinburgh;
one son, Jack F. Groves, Kokomo;
four brothers, Aylette and Merrill
Groves, route 2 Edinburgh, Thaddeus
Groves of Walesboro, and Carroll
Groves of Franklin, six grandchil-
dren and one great-grandchild.
