Mrs. Griffith [sic] died at her home here Saturday evening, and her remains were taken to Shelby county Monday for interment.

The 1860 US Federal Census for Nineveh, Johnson County, Indiana records twenty-nine-year-old, Tennessee-born Thomas H. Griffin, his thirty-three-year-old, Kentucky-born wife Rachel A. Griffin, and their sons, eight-year-old, Illiinois-born William H., six-year-old, Kentucky-born John R., four-year-old, Kentucky-born Samuel L. and ten-month-old Indiana-born Charles W. Griffin.
