Death of Perry Gribben [sic].

W. P. Gribben [sic], one of the oldest and best known citizens of Needham township, died Tuesday afternoon at his home four miles east of this city. His illness, which assumed the form of lung fever after contracting a heavy cold, was of but a few days duration.

Deceased had been a resident of Johnson county sixty-six years. He was born in Kentucky in 1821 and was but five years old when he came with his parents to this county. His first marriage was to Miss Malinda Hendricks, who died in 1862. His second wife, a Miss Brown, sister of James Brown of this city, survives him, also eight children as follows: G. W. Gribben [sic] and Mrs. A. G. Thomas, of Martinsville; Mrs. W. E. Henson and Mrs. L. S. Laken, of Indianapolis; S. E. Gribben [sic] of Rock­port; John, Charles and Albert Gribben [sic], living in this county.

Deceased was a faithful member of the Shiloh Presbyterian church, at which place funeral services were held yesterday morning at 10:30 o’clock. Burial at Smiley’s cemetery.
