Edwin D. Green

Edwin D. Green, 94, died Saturday, April 19, 2003, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was a 50-year resident of the Speedway area.

He was born Nov. 14, 1908, in Franklin. His parents were Roy Weaver and Sadie (Pattison) Green. He married F. Marie (Allen) Green. She survives. Other survivors include a son, Edwin D. “Bud” Green of Cicero; a daughter, Karen Massing of Indianapolis; a sister, Matilda Foster of Franklin; a brother, William B. Green of Franklin; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He graduated from Franklin High School in 1928 and attended Franklin College.

He was a salesman for H.B. Green Machinery for 12 years, retiring in 1972. He previously operated a Standard service station at 16th Street and Lafayette Road for 21 years.

He was a member of Evergreen Oriental Masonic Lodge and Speedway Christian Church.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. today at Speedway Christian Church. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of service today at the church. Burial will be at Floral Park Cemetery. Conkle Funeral Home, Speedway Chapel, is handling arrangements.
