OBITUARY.

Ida M. Shake, daughter of James and Sarah Shake, was born February 10, 1862. She was of a family of thirteen children, two boys and eleven girls, of which eight sisters and the two brothers survive a loss such as had not come to this family for thirty-nine years.

She was united in marriage to Joseph Gillaspy, January 6, 1880. To this union were born six children, four boys and two girls. The first that came to gladden this union was a son, but God in his all-wise providence saw fit to call him from this dark and sinful world to that land of pure delight, where he was waiting to welcome mamma home.

Mrs. Gillaspy departed this life Aug. 15, 1896, after a lingering illness of six weeks, during which time everything that human skill could procure was provided for her recovery by her sisters, brothers and devoted husband, who was ever ready with a willing hand and an open heart to supply her needs.

Early in life she united with the Christian church and has continually throughout her life been a faithful and obedient servant for the cause of Christ. She was a dear and devoted companion, a loving mother and had a kind and pleasant expression for all whom she met.

A FRIEND.
