Ben Galey, Well Known Auctioneer Died Friday
      James Benjamin Galey, well known auctioneer and farmer, died at his home
one mile west of Nineveh at 5:10 p.m. Friday after an extended illness.
      Mr. Galey was born April 15, 1876 in Kentucky, the son of William and
Almeda Ross Galey and came to Indiana with his parents when a boy.  He had
been a resident of Johnson County since his marriage to Cora Wirey
September 4, 1907.  He was well known in many parts of the county and was
a member of the New Bethel Christian Church.
      The surviving relatives are the wife; one daughter, Mrs. Almeda Watson, of
near Trafalgar; two sons, Hugh and Walter at home; two sisters, Mrs. Lucy
East of Lancaster, Ky., and Mrs. William Stillabower of Nineveh; three
brothers, Hugh of Richmond, Ky., Joseph of Kirksville, Ky., and William
living southwest of Edinburg in the Kansas neighborhood.
      Funeral rites in charge of the Rev. Ray Bozell assisted by the Rev. Harry
Lett of Nineveh were held from the Nineveh Christian Church at one thirty
Sunday.  Interment Rest Haven Cemetery, Edinburg.

Farmer and Auctioneer Had
Been Ill a Year—Funeral
on Sunday Afternoon

NINEVEH. Dec. 9.—James Ben­jamin Gailey auctioneer and farmer of the Nineveh community, passed away Friday afternoon at 5:10 o’clock at his home one mile west of Nineveh following an illness of the past year.

Mr. Gailey was born in Kentucky April 15, 1876, the son William and Almeda Ross Gailey. While yet a boy he came to Indiana with his parents and had lived in Johnson County since his marriage. He was a member of the New Bethel Christian church. Mr. Gailey was a leading democrat of this community and made an unsuccessful race for his party’s nomination for sheriff of Johnson County a few years ago. He was married to Miss Cora Wirey September 4, 1907 and to them three children were born. He is survived by the widow, one daughter, Mrs. Almeda Watson of Trafalgar: two sons, Hugh and Walter both at home; two sisters, Mrs. Lucy East of Lancaster, Ky., and Mrs. William Stillabower of Nineveh, and three brothers, Hugh Gailey of Richmond, Ky.; Joseph Gailey of Kirksville, Ky. and William Gailey of southwest of Edinburg.

Funeral services will be con­ducted at the Nineveh Christian church Sunday afternoon at one thirty by Rev. Ray Bozzell who will be assist­ed by Rev. Harry Lett. Place of bur­ial has not been decided.
