Note: The Johnson County Indiana WPA Death Index, 1882–1920, page 72, referencing Book H-17, page 39, records that A. V. Frost, a seventy-one white female, died 2 Dec 1894 in Kentucky.

Reasoning for Amanda Frost’s Maiden name:
In the 1860 US Federal Census for Edinburg, Blue River Township, Johnson County, Indiana, forty-seven-year-old, Ohio-born Saml [sic] P. Frost and his wife, forty-six-year-old Kentucky-born Amanda Frost have in their household their Kentucky-born daughters, eighteen-year-old Minerva and sixteen-year-old Mary E.
Kentucky Births and Christenings, 1839–1960, database, records that Mary E Frost was born to Samuel P. Frost and Amanda McCormick on 20 Jul 1853 in Trimble, Kentucky.
The 1880 US Federal Census for Edinburg, Johnson County, Indiana, records twenty-five-year-old Indiana-born T. E. Valentine, his twenty-six-year-old, Kentucky-born wife, Mary E. Valentine, and their five-year-old Indiana-born daughter Nellie. Mary E.’s father was born in Ohio and her mother in Kentucky, which would imply that she was the daughter of Samuel P and Mary (McCormick) Frost.
