EDGAR FREESE DIES MONDAY
      Edgar Freese, 71, lifelong resident of Edinburg died Monday afternoon at
1:45 after shoveling snow at his home at 307 North Lincoln Street.  He
apparently died of a heart attack.
      Funeral services are at 2:30 Thursday at Eskew Funeral Home in Edinburg.
Calling hours are after 2 p.m. today.  Burial will be at Rest Haven
Cemetery.
      Mr. Freese had spent practically his entire life in the printing business,
having started working as a boy of eight at the Edinburg Courier and
learning the trade through the years.  After leaving the Courier he was
employed at the Columbus Republic for over 20 years and worked briefly at
the Tri-County Enterprise in Edinburg after his retirement.
      He was born in Edinburg Sept. 3, 1905, to William and Myrtie (Curry)
Freese and was married to Lucile Woodsides on Oct. 9, 1927.
      He was an Edinburg High School graduate in the class of 1924 and a member
of the Edinburg United Methodist Church.
      Surviving with the widow are two daughters, Leona Marquess of Speedway and
Sandra Tucker of Schaefer Lake.  Also surviving are six grandchildren, two
great-grandchildren and 2 sisters, Mrs. Mildred (Earl) Randall of
Indianapolis and Hazel Sawin of Shelbyville.
      A brother, Harold, preceded in death.
