Lee Freeman died Wednesday at his home in Dublin, of typhoid fever. The remains will be brought to Whiteland this morning and thence to the Hurri­cane Baptist church where funeral services will be held at 10 o’clock, con­ducted by Prof. C. H. Hall. Deceased was 40 years old and a son-in-law of S. W. Tilson. He leaves a wife and three children.

The 1880 US Federal Census for Franklin, Johnson, Indiana records twenty-one-year-old, Indiana-born blacksmith Leander Freeman and his twenty-two-year-old, Indiana-born wife Alpha Freeman.

The Wayne County Indiana WPA Death Index, 1882–1920, page 199, referencing Book H-12, page 126, records that L. W. Freeman, a thirty-nine-year-old white male, died 6 Sep 1898 in Dublin.
