Miss Emma, aged seventeen, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Flynn [sic], living just south of this city, died Friday after a week of intense suffering. Friday while going down the cellar she slipped and would have fallen had she not exerted her entire strength to prevent it. It is supposed that her sudden exertion to save herself, injured her internally. Drs. Runnels and George of Indianapolis were sent for to perform an operation upon her, but arrived too late, as the patient died a few minutes after. Miss Flynn was a lovable young lady and the joy of her home. She has many friends who mourn her untimely death.
