Death of Mrs. Allie Turner.

Mrs. Allie Farr, wife of Rev. M. A. Farr, pastor of the West Street M. E. church, in Shelbyville, died at her home in that city, Sunday at one o’clock of puerperal fever. Deceased is well known to the people in the southern part of this county, where she lived at one time, when her father, Rev. Isaac Turner, was stationed there in charge of the Nineveh circuit. Her brother, Rev. J. W. Turner, is one of the most prominent ministers in southern Indiana.

Deceased was well known to the editor of this paper, having been at one time a pupil of his when in charge of the schools at Fairfield and when her father, Rev. Isaac Turner, was stationed at that point. As a pupil she was bright and studious, of a cheerful disposition and beloved by her school mates and all her acquaintances.

The Shelbyville Republican in giving notice of her death says:

In her circle of friends she was regarded as a kindly, lovable woman whose only object seemed to make those about her happy and contented. She was a devout Christian and was a wonderful aid and comforter to her husband in his work and ministrations.

Mrs. Farr was twenty seven years old and the only daughter of Rev. Isaac and Sarah Turner and sister of Rev. J. W. Turner. She was married to M. A. Farr Nov. 17, 1887, at Williamsburg, Indiana. For eight years she has shared with her husband the labors of the Methodist itinerancy and just at the hour when the prospect for great joy begins to appear, the shadows of night suddenly fell. She was quiet and unostentatious; true to her husband and devoted to her children.
