Death of Charles Farmer.

Charles E. Farmer, an old resident of this county, died Sunday evening at seven o’clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W. T. Clark, in Bargersville. Several days ago he fell and sustained injuries which, owing to infirmities due to old age, hastened his death.

Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 11 o’clock at the residence of Mr. Clark. Burial at Greenwood.

Deceased was born July 7, 1818, in Bedford County, Virginia, and came to this County, in 1855, settling in White River township. From 1863 to 1875 he resided in Bartholomew County. He was twice married. To the first union one child was born, Mrs. Clark, of Bargersville. To the second union ten children were born, all of whom survive, viz: William Farmer of Evansville; Ed, George and Charles of Indianapolis; Walter of this township; Mrs. Will Turner of Greenwood; Mrs. Grace McClain and Gertie Pierson of Whiteland, and Mrs. Ethel Deer of Bargersville.

Deceased was a Mason, having been a member of that fraternity thirty-five years. He had been a member of the Methodist church for over sixty years. Politically he was a democrat and never failed to vote at any general election.
