Catharine Tetrick Eytcheson, daughter of John and Lucy Tetrick was born near Lexington, Ky., August 12th 1813. Early in life she with other members of her family came to Clark county, Ind. Here she was converted and was baptized into the fellowship of the New Washington Baptist church by the Rev. Mortica Cole. She joined Second Mt. Pleasant church July 12th, 1835, this being the next day after its organization. She married William Eytcheson August 9th, 1842 and has since resided in Johnson County continuously. She was the mother of six children three of whom have gone before, while three sons are left to mingle their sorrows with the aged husband and father. For many years she has been a great sufferer but her sufferings are over for she now dwells with the Lord where no sickness, pain or death can mar the peace He has prepared for His children. She died December 19th, 1891, age seventy-eight years, four months and seven days. Funeral services conducted by Rev. John Reece at Second Mt. Pleasant church. Text. “The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away; blessed be the name of the Lord.”
