Esther C. Elliott, 81, Westminster Village Towers, died Thursday at Westminster Village, Greenwood.

Born in Stones Crossing June 19, 1898, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Quincy Adams. She was  married to W. A. Elliott Sr., who died in 1954.

Formerly employed as a dormitory director at Indiana Central University, she was a member of the Greenwood Church of Christ.

Associated with various literary groups, she had been interested in writing and verse. She also had several articles and poems published.

Funeral services will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Monday at Wilson-St. Pierre Greenwood Chapel by Dr. Leo Miller. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Indianapolis.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.

Survivors include sons John A. Elliott, Beech Grove, and Carl A. Elliott, Indianapolis; daughters Marjorie Behning, Wyckoff, NJ, and Rosalie Poe, Greenwood; a sister Eugenia Steffen, Greenwood; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
