Martha Alice Durham, daughter of J. D. and Nancy Durham, died at her home in Amity last Saturday, the 21st. She had been afflicted with epileptic spasms and during an attack of one fell into the fire and received injuries which resulted in her death. She was born June 22nd, 1865, and was therefore, at the time of her death, 26 years of age. Some two years ago she became a member of the church at Pisgah and lived a devoted Christian. The funeral occurred at the Amity church, services being conducted by Rev. Mathews. The remains were interred in the Kennedy cemetery.
