AMITY.

––––

James O. [sic] Durham, son of John D. and Nancy Durham, departed this life after an illness of but one week, on the eve of Nov. 30 at his home in Indianapolis. He was born in Kentucky August 2nd, 1870. When but a boy, he, with his parents, came to this state and for many years his home was at Amity where he was loved by all. In 1890 he went to Indianapolis where he worked at various trades until his death. He was married Aug. 21, 1895, to Miss May Miller, who with his father, mother, four brothers and one sister survive him. His funeral was preached at Amity church, Wednesday afternoon, by Rev. J. Mathes, of the Pisgah Christian church, after which the remains were laid away in the Amity cemetery to await the judgment day.

Those who attended the funeral from Indianapolis were: Misses Brown and Shipp, Mr. Harry Mitchell, Mr. Riggs and wife, Mrs. Tines, Mr. Bowman, Mr. Mitchel and Charley Durham. The choir consisted of Mrs. Minnie Gribbon, Mr. Charley Gribbon and wife and E. G. Barnhuer. The music was both beautiful and appropriate.
