Death of Patrick Duggan.

Patrick Duggan died Tuesday morning at four o’clock at his home in Clark township. He was the father of ex-trustee M. J. Duggan, and had been a resident of Johnson county since 1861, coming to Clark township and settling there when it was mostly forest. He was born in the county of Mayo, Ireland in 1814, came to America in 1848 and settled in Franklin County, this state, where he resided until coming to this county.

Four years ago, while driving a horse to a hayfork, he received a fall, striking his head and producing injuries from which he never fully recovered. For the last three weeks he had been confined to his bed.

Deceased leaves a wife and seven living children, viz: Mary, Michael J., Kate, Thomas J., Maggie, William and James. All reside in this county except William who is a resident of California.

Deceased was a man held in high respect and so conducted his life according to the golden rule that it was said of him, he never had an enemy in his life.
