MRS. SARAH DRAGOO
DIES AT HOME OF SON

Mrs. Sarah Dragoo, age eighty, widow of Clifford Dragoo, and a member of a prominent Johnson county family, died Wednesday night at the home of her son, Maurice Dragoo, south of Franklin. Mrs. Dragoo had been seriously ill for the past year, and a few days ago suffered a paralytic stroke which resulted in her death.

Funeral services will be held Sat­urday afternoon at two o’clock at the Vandivier funeral home here, followed by burial in Greenlawn cemetery.

Mrs. Dragoo, was the daughter of William H. and Lavinia Records Depue, and was born on a farm in Nineveh Township, November 3, 1860. She was one of nine children, and her life was spent on the farm previous to her marriage to Clifford Dragoo, October 25, 1877.

Following her marriage they lived in the Union community, and later moved to Needham Township, where they re­sided until Mr. Dragoo’s death in 1920. Mrs. Dragoo had since made her home in Franklin.

Four children were born to them, three of whom survive. They are Fred W. Dragoo of Richmond, Harry Dragoo of Indianapolis, and Maurice Dragoo, living south of Franklin. A son, Elba Dragoo, died in 1902. Two sisters also survive. They are Mrs. C. L. Bryson of Chicago, and Mrs. Florence Griffith of Franklin.

Dragoo died at 12 p. m. on 13 Feb 1941 in rural Johnson County, from apoplexy of 3 days duration, caused by arteriosclerosis of years duration, aged 80 years, 3 months and 9 days. She was female, white, widowed and a housekeeper, born in Indiana. Her usual place of residence was 151 S. Walter, Frankiln, Johnson County, Indiana. She was born to William H. Depue (birth place unknown) and Lavina Records (birthplace Indiana) on 2 Nov 1860. The informant was her son Maurice Dragoo of Franklin R.R. 5. Sarah was buried in Greenlawn Cemetery, Franklin, Indiana on 15 Feb 1941, Arthur W. Records, undertaker.
