WANDA LEE DOWNS
Wanda Lee Downs, 61, died Monday, March 21, 2005, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin. She was a resident of Edinburgh.
She was born Nov. 24, 1943, in Beulah, Ky. Her parents were Lawrence and Carmie (Smith) Jones. She married Jerry E. Downs on Sept. 23, 1961. He survives. Other survivors include three daughters, Lisa Brown and Dawn Perkins, both of Edinburgh, and Robin Boswell of Elizabethtown; a brother, Mervin Jones of Elizabeth; a sister, Judy Goddard of Columbus; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, James Walter Jones.
She graduated from Columbus High School in 1960.
She had attended Amity Baptist Church.
She was formerly employed by Edinburgh school system as a teacher’s assistant and also volunteered for several years in Edinburgh school system.
The Rev. Ron Ellis will conduct a service at 11 a.m. Thursday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home, 302 E. Main Cross St. in Edinburgh. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
