      A service for Russell E. Dougherty, 62, Trafalgar, was held today at
Wilson-St. Pierre Greenwood Chapel.  Burial was at Rocklane Cemetery.
      Mr. Dougherty died Saturday at St. Francis Hospital Center, Beech Grove.
      He was born July 14, 1921, in Greenwood to John A. and Pearl (Randolph)
Dougherty.
      He retired in March as carpenter shop foreman at the Indianapolis Star and
News, where he worked 15 years.
      He was a member of Greenwood Christian Church, Greenwood Lodge 514 F&AM,
Indianapolis Carpenters' Local and Double Y Saddle Club.
      Contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
      He is survived by two sons, Michael R. Dougherty, Bargersville, and
Jeffrey W. Dougherty, Trafalgar; a sister, Frances Jackson, Indianapolis,
and three brothers, Roland and Harold Dougherty, both of Indianapolis, and
Dale Dougherty of Greenwood.  Four grandchildren also survive.
