Mrs. E. E. Duke was called to Mar­ion County, near Indianapolis, Sunday, to attend the funeral of her sister, Mrs. Doty, who died Saturday. Her remains were placed in the vault at Glenn’s cemetery.

Note: Indiana, Death Certificates, 1899–2011, page 375, records that Mary Elmira [sic] Doty died from congestion of the bowels of three weeks duration, at 10:00 a. m. on 24 Dec 1899 in Perry Township, Marion County, Indiana, aged forty-four years, two months and one day. She was female, white, married and a housewife, born in Franklin, Johnson County, Indiana. Her father’s name was John Tressler [sic] (born in Virginia) and her mother’s maiden name Catherine Dressler [sic](birthplace unknown). She was buried in Mt Pleasant Cemetery on 28 Dec 1899, undertaker, C. E. Kregels.
