Mrs. E. E. Duke was called to Marion County, near Indianapolis, Sunday, to attend the funeral of her sister, Mrs. Doty, who died Saturday. Her remains were placed in the vault at Glenn’s cemetery.

Note: Indiana, Death Certificates, 1899–2011, page 375, records that Mary Elmira [sic] Doty died from congestion of the bowels of three weeks duration, at 10:00 a. m. on 24 Dec 1899 in Perry Township, Marion County, Indiana, aged forty-four years, two months and one day. She was female, white, married and a housewife, born in Franklin, Johnson County, Indiana. Her father’s name was John Tressler [sic] (born in Virginia) and her mother’s maiden name Catherine Dressler [sic](birthplace unknown). She was buried in Mt Pleasant Cemetery on 28 Dec 1899, undertaker, C. E. Kregels.
