OBITUARY.

Mary C. Repass was born in Cedar county, Mo., Dec. 29, 1873, and died Jan. 29, 1897, aged 23 years, 1 month.

In her infancy her parents moved with her to Johnson county, Ind., where they lived until 1880, when they moved to Marion county. There she grew to womanhood. She was united in marriage to Jas. M. Dorrell, Oct. 21, 1896. He took her to his home in Johnson county, where they lived until her death. She was received as a member of the M. E. church at Zionsville, Ind., Aug. 10, 1890, by Rev. S. C. Kennedy, and clearly converted at the altar during a revival held by the same pastor Feb. 1893. At this church she held her membership at the time of her death.

In her last hours she was happy and prayed Jesus to take her home. When dying she tried to sing, and asked her father to sing her favorite song, “It is well with my soul.” The sentiment of this hymn was the hope of her departing spirit. Two infant sisters beckoned her upward and she gladly went to meet them. She leaves a father, mother, six brothers, two sisters and a lonely companion to mourn the loss of gentle, loving, pure hearted Mary. Death’s icy fingers broke the bonds of marriage asunder at three months, eight days. Though sad to part with her husband so shortly, and in the bloom of life, let us hope that they may at last be reunited in heaven, where bright hopes are never blighted and where tears and sorrow never dome. Her earthly form was tenderly laid to rest in Crown Hill cemetery, Jan. 31, 1897.
