Joseph Dorrel [sic], a well-known re­sident of Greenwood, dropped dead Saturday afternoon while on his farm south of town assisting in some work. He fell forward on his face and expired before he could be taken into the house. Death was due to heart trouble from which he had suffered for a long time.

Deceased was born in White River Township in 1836, and is a brother of Wm., David and Paschal Dorrel [sic]. He served in the war as a member of Co. E, 148th Ind. Vol.

Funeral services were held Tuesday a.m. at 10 o’clock in the M. E. church conducted by Rev. Westhafer.
