DEATH OF JESSE DONNELL.

Jesse Donnell, the well-known drug­gist, died Wednesday at 12 o’clock, after an illness of but a few days from a severe attack of heart trouble.

He was taken ill Saturday evening but was able to be at the store a short time Sunday.

Funeral services take place this morn­ing from the residence at [?] o’clock.

1880 US Federal Census for Franklin, Johnson County, Indiana, taken 16 Jun 1880 records sixty-one-year-old, Kentucky-born physician John H. Donnell, his fifty-five-year-old, Pennsylvania-born wife, Elizabeth [Herriott] Donnell, and their Indiana-born sons, nineteen-year-old druggist Jesse, fifteen-year-old Orion and twelve-year-old Charles Donnell.

John Donnell married Maggie Watkins on 28 Dec 1894 per the Johnson County Indiana WPA Marriage Index, 1882–1920.

The 1900 US Federal Census for Franklin, Johnson County, Indiana, taken 25 Jun 1900, records thirty-eight-year-old [sic], Indiana-born druggist Jesse J. Donnell [sic] (born Apr 1862) and his thirty-two-year-old, Indiana-born wife, Maggie [Watkins] Donnell (born Aug 1865).

Indiana, Death Certificates, 1899–2011, Franklin, Franklin Township, Johnson County, Certificate and Record of Death, Health Officer’s Record Number 33, page 65 records that Jesse A. Donnell died at about 1 o’clock p. m. on 8 Aug 1900 in Franklin, Indiana from endocarditis, caused by cirrhosis of the liver, aged 40 years. He was male, white, married and a druggist. His father’s name was John H. Donnell, born in Indiana [sic Kentucky] and his mother’s maiden name Harriet unknown [sic Elizabeth Herriott], born in Indiana [sic Pennsylvania]. The informant was Mrs J. A. [Maggie Watkins] Donnell. Jesse was buried in Franklin, Indiana on 10 Aug 1900, E. G. Barnhizer, undertaker
