      William W. Dollens, 71, of 2815 Washington, died unexpectedly at 5:45 p.m.
Tuesday at Bartholomew County Hospital.
      He was retired from Arvin Industries in 1977 after 43 years of employment.
      Funeral service will be conducted by the Rev. Jim Baird at 1 p.m. Friday
at Hathaway-Myers Funeral Chapel.  Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in
Franklin.  Calling at the funeral home will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday
and on Friday from 9 a.m. until service time.  A Masonic memorial service,
conducted by the Greenwood Masonic Lodge of which Dollens was a member,
will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
      Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart
Association.
      Dollens was born Nov. 8, 1912, in Franklin to George W. and Edna Webb
Dollens.  He married Helen K. Taulman June 5, 1937, in Franklin, and she
survives.  He was a member of the First Christian Church and Elks Lodge of
Seymour, Bartholomew County Election Board, Indianapolis Valley of
Scottish Rite, Murat Shrine and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers.
      Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Linda I. Dollens at home and
Carol A. Dollens of Indianapolis; two sons, George E. Dollens of 2921 S.
Catalina and William W. Dollens Jr. of Franklin; a brother, J. Robert
Dollens of Franklin, and four grandchildren.
