      EDINBURGH  --  Leo "Red" Dinn, 80, died 
Thursday at Faith Nursing Home in Edinburgh.
      A native of Johnson and Bartholomew counties, Dinn 
was an avid lover of horses.  He was a member of Holy 
Trinity Catholic Church, Holy Name Society and the 
Diesel Workers Union.  He retired from Cummins Engine 
Co. after 30 years in 1973.
      Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Holy 
Trinity Catholic Church, with the Rev. Paul Shikany 
officiating.  Calling will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday at 
Long Funeral Home.  A rosary service will be held at 8 p.m. 
Sunday at the funeral home.   Burial will be at Rest Haven 
Cemetery at Edinburgh.
      Memorials may be made to the Building Fund at 
Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
      Born May 14, 1910, at Crackaway in Bartholomew 
County, Dinn was the son of Frank Dinn and Annie Bisel.  
He married Mamie Huff June 7, 1934.  She survives.
      Also surviving are sons, Charles Dinn of Morgantown, 
David Dinn of Clay City, and George and Steve Dinn of 
Columbus; daughters, Dorothy Pope of Mount Vernon, 
Luretta Pope, Kay Nix and Mary Nickerson, all of Columbus, 
and Charlotte Welton of Boulder, Colo.; sisters, Agnes 
Snyder and Mary Swift of Edinburgh, Roseanna Frost of 
Columbus, Norine Majcher of Austin, Texas and Josephine 
Grimes of Fort Worth, Texas; a brother, John Henry "Red" 
Dinn of Morgantown; 19 grandchildren; and eight great-
grandchildren.
      A sister, Elizabeth Henderson, died in 1987.
